At the recent Open Day in October, we signed Bobby the Bear up as a new SDSA member.
We have recently met with Bobby to find out a bit more about him.
When asked how he got his name, he replied that he thought he was named after the scorer of the winning goal when Saints beat Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup, Bobby Stokes. He also said Bobby Stokes played for Saints before he was born, so had never seen his namesake play except for on his PC.
We also asked how long he had supported Saints, and he said he had since he was a cub and normally goes to games with his dad Rupert.
When asked who his favourite player was Bobby said that he didn’t have a favourite but if pushed he would go for Armstrong as having to use his crutches had made his arms strong (he gave a slight grin after saying that).
Welcome to the SDSA Bobby, and if you ever encounter any issues at a home or away game, lets us know by sending us a message.
