Riverside Youth Football Club was formed in November 2013. Many months prior to this were spent researching all the requirements and necessary steps needed in order to form a club. This was done with a lot of information and guidance from Hampshire FA.

Training of potential players was then started. The club then applied for and secured affiliation to Hampshire FA.

Shortly afterwards our first ever team Riverside Rangers was formed. They were to play at the Under 9 level.

The club, the Under 9 team and its players were then registered with the Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer League. This enabled the team to play youth league football for the 2014/15 season.

A similar process was undertaken a few short months later to form the Riverside Girls Under 11 team and enter them into the Southampton & District Girls Football League for the forthcoming 2014/15 season.

Both teams took part in 6 a side tournaments during the summer of 2014. The Under 9 team also played a few friendly matches to prepare for the start of the new season.

September 2014 saw both teams commence their first ever season of youth league football. The signs were promising for this season and the many to that are to follow. The football was a huge learning curve but they all stepped up to the challenge.

In January 2015 our club received recognition from The FA when we were awarded FA Charter Standard status. We then received accreditation as part of the FA Respect Scheme. Both teams had developed and progressed during the course of their first season.

Upon the completion of the 2014/15 season the club held its first Club Awards presentation. This was to reward all of the players for their hard work and effort in training and league matches. Trophies were issued to all players for their commitment and further individual awards were given.
