SDSA AGM 2015

The SDSA held their 5th AGM in the function room of The Saints Pub in Millbrook, on Thursday 23rd July 2015.

The committee were a little disappointed with the turnout, as there were only 12 members there (out of a total membership of around 150), and most of them were the committee plus their friends or family.

The AGM started at 7.30pm, and after apologies had been noted and the previous AGMs minutes were accepted as a true record as to what happened (as far as those there could remember), Andy (our Chairman) gave a brief report of what the SDSA was about and a quick overview of what the SDSA had been doing since the previous AGM.

Paul (our Secretary and Fundraising Secretary) gave a report on what the SDSA had achieved over the last 12 months, and also what fundraising we had done.

Lyn (our Treasurer) gave the final Officer report and detailed the SDSA finances.  She brought to the AGM’s notice that due to the timing of some invoices, in some cases payment had been made for annual costs twice, 2014/15 and 2015/16, or 2013/14 and 2014/15, so expenditure may seem a little high.

Andy then detailed a couple of SDSA achievements not already mentioned in his report, or by Paul, and it was agreed that the last 12 months had been a good year, and a lot had been done by the SDSA and by the club (with SDSA assistance).

Lyn went through the SDSA Constitution detailing a few minor changes the committee felt needed to be made, and they were voted in.

Our previous Vice-Chair (Elaine) resigned from the committee (due to family reasons) recently, so Mark was voted in as Vice-Chairman (Mark has been on the committee as Disabled Liaison for 4 years).  Matt was also voted onto the committee as a new committee member, so welcome Matt.

Andy completed the main AGM business by saying that the SDSA plan to continue representing disabled supporters over the next 12 months.

Paul mentioned within AOB, that the SDSA had lost 3 members over the past 12 months, and our thoughts were with their families.
