We hope that you are staying safe during these strange times.
We have tried to keep in contact with Southampton FC during the lockdown, but with their staff working away from St Mary’s, that has proved difficult.
The new 2020/21 Premier League season is due to start on September 12th 2020, and supporters may be able return to St Mary’s a month later.
However, the return is likely to be on a limited basis, and at the moment we don’t know how that will work, and more importantly how it will affect disabled supporters returning.
Face coverings
From 24th July 2020, it became mandatory to wear a face covering in enclosed spaces, but you can be exempted from wearing a face covering if you have a legitimate reason including (but not limited to)
- not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
- if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
- if you are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
(list taken from www.gov.uk)
You are not required to prove an exemption, but you may feel happier if you create a card that details why you consider yourself to be exempt that you can show to others if challenged.
While we are all waiting for life to return to normal, please keep yourself safe, and if you have any questions please contact us.
