SDSA AGM 2014

On Thursday 24th July, the SDSA held their annual AGM at The Saints Pub in Millbrook, Southampton.

The Chairman delayed the start of the AGM from the advertised 7pm, as the turnout was on the low side, and to hold the AGM there needed to be 6 full members in addition to the committee.  After it was confirmed that there was more than the required number of full members, the AGM started at about 7.30pm.

The AGM went well, and included discussions on the membership fee for the coming season.  The committee proposed that to increase membership, there should be no membership fee, although a membership form would still need to be completed.  That was passed by the members there.  New memberships will be available from 1st August.

At the point in the AGM where the committee were voted in, Steve Tibbles stood down from the Secretary post and also the committee, and Paul Lucas has now taken on the Secretary role whilst still looking after the fundraising for the SDSA.

Elaine Brindley became Vice Chair (whilst still looking after the SDSA Facebook and eBay accounts) after Marie Ward left the committee earlier in the year due to ill health.

The committee would like to thank both Steve and Marie for their wonderful service to the committee over the last few years.

We welcomed Mike Field after he offered to join the committee.

We would like to thank Eugene from The Saints  Pub, for allowing us to use the function room.
